With Cloud out on parole, Tully is able to return to Firefly Lane. Kate has since moved on and found a new best friend, AV Club president Lisa-Karen . While Kate and Johnny are trying to navigate their divorce, Tully is dealing with the aftermath of the lawsuit. She and her new agent Jolene try to figure out what her next step should be career-wise.
Even though she can appear stern, pompous and vindictive, she is actually quite sympathetic to other people and proves herself to be a substantially good person. Home Fires is a British period television drama about the life of Women's Institute members on the Home Front during the Second World War. Set in a rural Cheshire community called Great Paxford, the series is produced by ITV, and launched its first series in May 2015.

During their conversation, we learn that Tully never left Danny a message. She just called and then hung up shortly after he answered. That night, Pat confronts Tully in the parking lot because he’s pissed she said something to his new girlfriend. Pat still denies that he did anything wrong, but it’s cathartic to see Tully stand up to him and call him out on his lies. Of course, Pat’s version of events is much different than Tully’s. At first, it doesn’t seem like she believes Tully, but later, Tully and Kate see her and Pat arguing.
When Pat returns, Erica warns her of the dangers of continuing the affair. The dinner with Nick also puts Alison in an awkward situation. Even worse, that would implicate the Barden factory and the innocent Frances. While the young airman has managed to avoid severe repercussions, the consequences of the Barden factory’s association with the criminal Lyons brothers continue to worsen.

When the two women reach the vicarage, Steph spots a movement at the window and Sarah is forced to explain. Astounded by Sarah’s audacity and fearing for her friend’s safety, Steph promptly telephones Nick to inform him of the deserter’s location. Attempting to avoid further exposure, Sarah moves the deserter to the church. But as she leaves, Nick pulls up, outraged by her concealment of the truth and vowing that he will never trust her again. After a tense standoff, the deserter decides to give himself up, thus mitigating the consequences for himself. Elizabeth is an Auburn University graduate working an office job by day and writing by night as she dreams of all things England.
A poignant moment comes for him when he speaks to a large crowd at a community event about his decision. He insists that he stands by it and doesn’t expect them to agree with it or accept it, but still wishes they would be respectful since he has grown up in the village. He also assures them that he did agonize over the decision and it was difficult.
'Home Fires' Recap: Season 2 Episode 3
In it, Tully and Kate have to deal with preparing the house and Cloud for a visit from her parole officer. That includes ushering all of Cloud’s drunk/high friends out of the house. But one of them, a guy named Leon, appears to have overdosed. Panicked, the two teens shove his body into a cupboard under the stairs. It becomes clear Marah orchestrated the whole thing to try and force them to talk.
Bryn is skeptical, but quietly waits at the bus stop every morning out of the slightest possibility that David might disembark, safe and sound. Sarah Collingborne must make a speech at that ceremony on behalf of her enlisted husband Adam, the vicar. That task becomes much more difficult after she receives a telegram informing her that Adam has been captured by the Nazis. Now she must not only inspire courage in the town in her husband’s place, she also must inform Great Paxford of his fate and cope with it herself. As of now, there will be no confirmation about season 7. The debut of season 6 of will take place on September 19, 2022 at 8 p.m.

These are the two major questions for the WI throughout the episode – who will the next president be, and what is their plan for increasing food supply? There’s also a slight hiccup for the WI regarding a meeting place. Snobbish former president, Joyce Cameron , pushes into a meeting and announces that the building they’ve been using has been delegated for some other use, so the WI can no longer meet there.
Afterward, Danny wants to try his chances with Tully – he wants drinks with her. Her bill from the veterinarian for her dog’s operation was much more than she expected, so she steals from the WI’s funds to pay for it. To compensate, she seeks out the dishonest deal that was offered her in the previous episode, provided that it’s a one-time situation. The businessman agrees, but says he doubts she’ll be able to live without them in the future. As foreshadowed, it’s later hinted that there will be more of these to come, for she meets a friend of Driscoll’s who wants a similar deal with her. In the new year, Kate takes a creative writing class and tries to make a new friend with one of her classmates, Vivian .
Laura is forced to face the consequences of her affair with Richard Bowers, and Spencer and Claire's relationship takes an unexpected turn. Sarah receives some shocking news about Adam, but her sorrow is overshadowed by tragedy for Frances. The best news in Great Paxford belongs to Claire and Spencer.
While there, despite Frances’s express wish that he not be present, Peter’s illegitimate son Noah appears, dispelling by his striking resemblance to Peter any doubt about his parentage. Compounding the pain of seeing the physical result of Peter’s affair, Frances’s buy-out offer is refused. She will not be allowed to wash her hands of this sordid past after all. Tune in again next week for more jam-making and ladies chat and undoubtedly more serious news of the coming war. One woman whose life would undeniably improve if her husband were gone is Pat Simms. She and Captain Novotny have been growing closer, and when the two secretly meet for a picnic he reveals his attraction to her, perspicaciously having inferred her unhappiness with her husband.
Only because of Marah does Kate even give Tully a few minutes of her time. They have a tense fight that ends with Kate telling Tully she cannot forgive her and ending their friendship of 30 years. Because she was driving drunk, Tully is taken to jail and booked, including getting a mugshot. The entire thing leads to a huge scandal that’s all over the news and sees Tully dealing with a wave of paparazzi when she leaves the precinct on bail. Surprisingly, Kate runs into Theo at the bar, and they hit it off right away.
But the biggest surprise comes when Charlotte, formerly little nerdy Lottie from KPOC, shows up in the hospital room looking quite glamorous. Her desire to forget Noah is made impossible when the boy’s home in Liverpool is bombed and Sarah convinces Frances to house him until a new residence is found. Alison’s own hopes – that there is no fishy business at the factory – are stifled when she spies the Lyons threatening and bribing the foreman. Finally convinced she must inform Frances, she arrives too late.
I was also proud of Dr. Will Campbell in this episode for finally telling his daughters about his lung cancer. They tell him they know something is wrong, so he sees it is time for them to know. I love this family’s love for each other, which of course makes it harder to watch them grieve. Kate (Rachel Hurd-Wood) is especially torn up over the prospect of losing her father so soon after Jack’s death.
She cornered Eleanor with her lies and convinced her to inject herself with the drug she tried on Daisy. She even tries to convince Mark to kill Naomi, but for Mark, the thought of murdering Naomi is too much to bear, and he leaves, thwarting Claire’s plans. But Kate jumps in to take the blame despite Tully’s protests. The fact Kate is also half-naked when the fire trucks arrive also doesn’t help her cause, and Stan fires her. But Kate isn’t all that upset about it since she knows the job is way more important to Tully, whereas, for her, it’s just a job.
